Dating back to 1840, Punch cigars were created with the intention of directly marketing them to the British. The name Punch was derived from the mischievous yet massively popular puppet character Mr Punch. Ranking just behind Por Larranaga as the second oldest Cuban brand, the cigar company was purchased by Manuel Lopez in 1884. Fast forward to approximately the 1930s, the brand become part of the Hoyo de Monterrey manufacturers successfully owned by Fernandez y Palicio. Punch cigars are known for their medium to fullness and richness.
